Late night spiritual ramblings.
Satan’s ultimate goal is to take our lives. He wants to take us out.
A life lost to him means one less eternal life for the kingdom. It means one more child of God who was deceived by his lies and gave in.
As he works us towards him, he finds our weak spots and infiltrates feelings of hopelessness and uselessness in hopes that we will give in to his trap.
He’s so good at making things look appealing or seem right.
He observes when we feel weak or question good things because of the way life’s treated us. He knows to target people who feel less than or vulnerable. He comes after the places that aren’t as hard to twist all up and deceive.
He also picks people that God is actively using or has plans to use and will continue to use in powerful ways. He is very threatened by our passion for Jesus and he’s willing to work even harder to fight for these people’s souls, They put his goals at risk of failure. He wants to intercept the connections we have with God as quickly as possible so that we don’t surrender too much to God that he loses us. That is a true threat to him because most who find God don’t cHange their minds. They receive His power and can see how fake and evil the enemy is.
God though He IS true. Like all the time true. He created us so he actually knows who we really are. He knows the thoughts in our minds, the hairs on our heads and the aches in our hearts. He cares for our brokenness and only Spurs us on to know more of His truth so we can be more free.
We can’t allow ourselves to fall in the enemy’s traps. Our worth and value are worth far more than anything satan could offer. Believe Jesus when He says you are worth so much to Him that He was willing to die for you. Think about that, he believes in us and loves us so much that he gave Himself up for us, so we could have life forever with Him someday. Whole life, free of all the pain and confusion and wondering and aching. A life filled with only joy and only good and only love. I want that afterlife.
When you feel you aren’t enough, that you aren’t worthy, or you are useless, please consider this the devils attempt to take you from the one who loves you most. Also consider its a lie, one you don’t have to give in to. The truth is: your worth is grounded in what God says about you and if you look in the Bible It’s full of His love and passion for us. We don’t even have to do anything to earn this love, He just loves us as is no matter what. Truly no strings attached, no expectations, just because He loves us. We get to receive it and allow being so completely loved to heal and fill us for as much and as long as we allow Him.
The enemy works harder and more actively than most of us realize, he picks God’s people. He is relentless, he has been in my life, but God is relentless too and He pursues us with love. His love beats satan’s deception any day. My husband tells my boys when they wrestle him, “I’m bigger, I’m stronger, and I’m going to win.” Spoiler Alert!
God, our good Father, wins
