I pulled into the church parking lot with 40 minutes to spare before Isaiah was done with youth group. I figured I would pray while I waited for him.
I began talking with Jesus....
"Thank you Jesus that you love me. You love me when my heart is towards You and even when it's not. You know everything about me, my thoughts, my hurts, my desires, my longings, even my sin. You love me, all the same. You are faithful, Your love knows no bounds.
And in an instance Your Holy Spirit came to me. Your presence so strong and mighty, yet so tender and sweet. Your very being surrounding me, pressing into me, the Holy One in my midst . I sit quiet before You. In awe of You, tears trickle down my face, I am undone. What a gift, what extravagant love. You came so quickly, so powerfully, so unexpectedly, You came just to be with me.
I bask in your presence. I breathe you in deep. Your warmth surges through my body. Your love, pours over me. I am overwhelmed by Your Spirit. Your power, Your peace, Your joy, all of this mingled together, Your aroma so sweet.
Each time Your Holy Spirit falls on me, I am touched, and once again I am never the same. Your glory, Your face, How beautiful You are.
You give me peace, You restore my joy, You bring back my hunger and thirst, You deepen my faith. You renew my heart to serve You, to love Your people, reigniting my passion to always chase after You.
Holy Spirit You are always with me, always fighting on my behalf, always showing Yourself to me, always speaking, yet when You fall on me so strong I am taken back, amazed by your presence.
You Spirit intertwine with my spirit, we become one;
I must never stop loving, never stop believing, never stop giving, and never stop hoping. I worship You Holy Spirit, I reach out to You, I take You in. You are like no other.
All I can say is thank You. Thank you. Thank You. Thank You for the gift of Your presence before me, in me, after me, and all around me. Thank You for meeting here with me. You bring life to Me. I praise You Lord and give You all the glory. You are worthy!
1 You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in my mother's womb . Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand- when I awake, I am still with you...
...Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
